You can! To rinse your machine from past residue, simply press the Lungo button once with no capsule inside. Discard the water, insert your teapsule, then press the Lungo button twice for a full cup of tea (200ml).

Although this is the case for aluminium and plastic capsules, our capsules are 100% bio-based and 100% home-compostable. They are as natural as the herbs themselves, decomposing in the same time frame as an orange peel. You can even throw them directly in the soil, where they’ll transform into natural fertiliser for the soil.
Even though herbs do typically require 7-9 minutes, we replace time with pressure. The combination of Nespresso’s pressure (19 bars) and lower temperature (80 degrees Celsius) allows for a deep yet delicate extraction of flavour. You’ll even see foam forming on the top like an espresso, testament to an excellent extraction.

Nope, never. You’ll only find leaves inside our capsules, cut but never pulverised. You can look through the top filter or rip one, if you like.
